Vanity Units Brisbane - Tips for renovating your bathroom vanity

We have a lot of customers coming to us for advice on how to approach a bathroom renovation so we have put together a list of things to consider to get you started.

How much storage do you need?

Most bathrooms are not making the most of the space available. Even if your bathroom is only a small space, clever bathroom cabinetry can add storage where you mightn't have thought it was possible. Drawers are great for eliminating hard to access areas in the back of cupboards. Dividers can also be used in vanity drawers to keep everything organised. Deep drawers are great for storing towels and linen. Placing a thin cabinet behind the vanity mirror makes use of wall area without getting in the way.

What style of hand basin?

Hand basin designs are many and varied. Many becoming works of art rather than just a functional pieces, often crafted from glass, vitreous china, stainless steel or stone products. Decide on the style you would like to create in your bathroom. Do you have space for two hand basins? Many of our customers are very glad they designed their new bathroom vanity to contain and an extra basin.

Bathroom benchtop

Bathroom benchtops can be as much a statement for the bathroom as kitchen benchtops are in the kitchen. Marble, granite, engineered stone, stainless steel, laminate, Corian and timber all look great in the bathroom. Bathroom benchtops tend to be smaller than kitchen benchtops so using a bold style or pattern won't overwhelm the room. Be aware, when choosing a benchtop product, of the wet nature of the bathroom area, choose water-fast products if you want something easy to maintain.

Bathroom tapware

In the last few years tapware has emerged from being a hot and cold tap with a spout to just about any design you could imagine. Stainless steel, chrome, brass have all been used to create beautiful tapware to complement any bathroom design. Add some colour, glass or even mix it up a bit to complete your bathroom vanity design.
