We just finished up this renovation project right here in Narangba, and it’s a great example of how a bit of colour can completely transform a space. Looking at the 'before' photo, the original kitchen was pretty cramped and the old blue-green cabinets were definitely showing their age. We stripped it all back to create a more open layout, including a custom island and matching TV cabinetry to tie the whole living area together.
The new 'Birch Forest' green we used for the two-pack cabinetry is a bold choice, but it works perfectly with the 40mm YDL Stone in 'Summer Breeze'. We went with a subtle profile on the doors to give it a high-spec, classic look that won’t date.
One of the best parts of this reno is the integrated dining table. We used the same 'Summer Breeze' stone but gave it curved radius ends. It’s much more practical for a family than the old breakfast bar and makes the whole room easier to move around. For the hardware, we actually used Handle House 'Narangba' handles on the drawers, which was a nice local touch.
Everything is finished with Blum 'Merivobox' soft-close drawers and recessed LED strip lighting to highlight the textured splashback.
To make the open-plan area feel consistent, we built a matching TV unit. We carried over the 'Birch Forest' cabinetry and used a 20mm version of the 'Summer Breeze' stone for the top. The overhead cabinets have French panel clear glass doors, which are great for displaying things without them getting dusty.
Stone: YDL Stone 'Summer Breeze' (40mm Kitchen / 20mm TV Unit)
Cabinetry: Two-Pack Taubmans 'Birch Forest' (30% matte finish)
Hardware: Blum Merivobox & Handle House 'Narangba' handles
